CARE AND PREPARATION – MYRTLE GREENERY

DIY Bulk Flower Guide

Myrtle is a classic, fragrant greenery that requires standard preparation and offers good durability. Please follow these steps carefully upon receiving your stems:

  1. Unpack immediately. Remove the stems from the box as soon as they arrive.
  2. Remove outer packaging. Take off all outer packaging and protective sleeves.
  3. Remove lower leaves. Strip off all foliage that would sit below the water line to keep the water clean and reduce bacteria.
  4. Prepare clean water. Fill a clean bucket or vase with fresh water. Floral food is optional, as greenery typically does not show a noticeable benefit.
  5. Trim the stems. Cut approximately 1–2 inches off the stems at an angle using sharp floral shears or a sharp knife.
  6. Hydrate properly. Place stems immediately into water and keep them in a cool area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  7. Fragrant greenery. Myrtle is known for its pleasant natural scent and works well in a variety of arrangements.
  8. Good durability. Holds well in fresh arrangements and maintains structure over time.
  9. Daily care. Change the water occasionally and re-cut stems as needed to maintain freshness.
